Effective
In line with the Paris Declaration
EUNIDA puts into operation the principles of co-operation and complementarity through the division of labour. Possessing an in-depth knowledge of individual Members States' assistance programmes and with a world-wide presence, EUNIDA provides a co-ordination platform in the field for EU Member States and the European Commission.
Implementing projects through EUNIDA means delegating activities to a pan- European grouping of Member State agencies rather than to single Member State organizations. As a grouping of experienced national agencies working as one, EUNIDA brings together the combined expertise and resources of well-established implementing development agencies facilitating real strength of delivery:
- A large pool of public and private sector experts capable of providing specialist advice on complex projects
- A worldwide network of field and country offices whose competencies have been enhanced thanks to a process of deconcentration
- A long-standing experience in the field of development cooperation, in particular capacity building and institutional strengthening to implement complex, innovative and large scale projects in almost all sectors
Thus, EUNIDA can:
- Deliver institutional capacity building all over the world
- Provide access to and quickly mobilise a wide resource base of sector and geographical expertise at short notice
- Respond quickly to emergency and post-crisis situations
