European Development Days 2010
The panel gathered a group of experts and members of European networks to discuss the contribution of networks to EU development policies, and to tackle the following questions: what have we learnt about the costs and benefits of working together? Which form of organisation works best? How does the context of European Development Cooperation affect the future of networks?
Dr. Bernd Eisenblätter, Managing Director, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, EUNIDA member, Enrique Mendizabal, Networks’ specialist, Overseas Development Institute (ODI), Ross Mountain, Director General, Development Assistance Research Associates (DARA) and, Andreas Vogt, Membership and Networking Manager discussed the role of networks. The panel was moderated by Simon Maxwell.
Throughout the discussion, the speakers shared their points of view on the general features of networks, and their added value in the context of European external aid. The audience was invited to share their experience with networking and of the post-crisis situation in Haiti and a lively and interactive panel-audience discussion ensued.
