Detailed project description:
The project focuses on disease control measures for TB, HIV/Aids and Hepatitis C, in particular on increasing the role and involvement of nurses in infectious disease prevention and control to implement client-centered services and on improving infectious disease control and practice in health facilities for both the providers and users of health services.
The main activities include:
- Assessment of the current state of affairs of training programs, duties of nurses and responsibilities of involved institutions in infectious disease prevention and control and establishment of a work plan;
- Organisation of study tours to familiarise key stakeholders with disease control policies and approaches applied in European health settings;
- Development of a postgraduate course on infection, prevention and control with communication/counselling skills integrated for nurses and organisation of trainings;
- Development of TB, HIV/Aids and Hepatitis C case finding protocols and Infectious Disease Control Plan for health service providers and introduction to selected priority health care providers
